Lisa Beaulieu, BComm., CPT
Certified Pilates & Yoga Instructor
Lululemon Ambassador 2007-2008
Founder & Studio Director
As a teenager, I studied ballet Jazz, Classic, Modern,
African and tap dance with Etobicoke School of the Arts and Les Ballets
Jazz du Québec with whom I ended up dancing professionally. I
worked as a freelance instructor and choreographer for a couple of
years and then tucked away my little dancer’s heart to study Commerce
at McGill University.
I spent the greater part of my 20s earning a living in
the business community. My lifestyle was based on making a lot of money
and striving to be known as a ‘great female success’. After several
years at various large institutions and then freelance management
consulting, I co-founded a sports medicine chiropractic & massage
clinic with a brilliant chiropractic doctor.
I developed a very keen interest in the body which led
me back to university to study anatomy and physiology. I undertook my
teacher training in the Pilates Method with both Stott Pilates and
Janet Lemon in Toronto. As great as Pilates is, I knew there was
something missing and when I met my first yoga teacher, Donna Christo I
knew I had found the missing link – Yoga. I completed my teacher
training at the Yoga Studio in Toronto with Hali Shwartz, Michael
Siddall and Christine Cinq-Mars.
Since this new beginning, I have continued to attend
numerous workshops including pre-natal yoga training with Janice
Clarfield; and continue to work privately with David Robson of the
Downward Dog.
This path is indeed my calling, to teach what I have
been taught, to pass on the understanding, the courage and the
compassion that I receive to those who study with me.

Maria Gomez, BFA-Dance
Certified Yoga and Pilates Instructor
We welcome our Newest Teacher Maria Gomez to our team.
Maria’s interest in Yoga and Pilates was born with her university dance
degree. Yoga and Pilates was the diagnosis for dance injuries and
improvement in her dance practice and performance. Maria brings to her
practice, an informed awareness of the body with the mind- breath- body
connection that has been developed through her experience in dance.
Maria’s love for teaching and passion for movement is
shown through her friendly and warm approach to her classes. She treats
the practice as accessible and adaptable to everybody, and she loves to
play with variations and class sequencing!
Maria studied dance, ballet and modern, since the age of
10 years. She graduated from Dance and Movement at York University. She
then studied Pilates at Stott Pilates and with Janet Lemon. Her Yoga
training comes from The Yoga Studio and she has completed an exclusive
Mentorship Program with Lisa Beaulieu at Shas Yoga & Pilates Studio.

Oliver Dawson Clark
Certified Yoga Instructor
Oliver
had been working with me privately for only a short time before he
undertook his teacher training with esteemed Senior Ashtanga Yoga
Teachers David Robson and Tina Park. He was an absolute
natural! I watched him grow as he continued to work with me one
on one throughout his teacher training and then refine his practice and
knowledge under my tutelage through a private Mentorship Program I
offer here at Shas Studio. His practice is disciplined and strong
and is beautifully balanced out by his compassionate nature. He
is truly fantastic but don't just take my word for it, come see for
yourself!

Ailidh Carpendale
Certified Yoga, Pranayama & Meditation Teacher
After a life of athletic pursuits, Ailidh found her way
to the practice of yoga. She has studied many different forms of yoga
over the years, all of which have left her with the utmost respect for
the value of the breath. She comes to the mat to be reminded of
gentleness, ease, and discipline; to find creativity, strength, and to
dance to the rhythm of her own breathing.
A student of yoga in its myriad forms for the last 10
years, Ailidh was privileged to complete her teacher training at The
Salt Spring Centre of Yoga on beautiful Salt Spring Island, BC, in
2005. Since then she has been teaching regularly, and continues her
studies with teachers Hart Lazar, Michael Bridge-Dickson, Shankara and
Mark Darby, among others.
Ailidh has a sweet and calming nature, a true nurturer
that adapts to the needs of her students. She accommodates the
unique ability of each student; all are safely challenged, strengthened
and relaxed. She has experience with children, seniors, teens and
of course the grown up kids we call adults! Ailidh incorporates
all facets of her expertise into her classes so in addition to the
physical practice you can expect to learn how to calm the mind and use
your breath to aid in relaxation and focus. Ailidh also teaches
Pilates, Restorative Yoga, Yoga for Athletes & Yoga for Men.
